MFFC’s SCG Showcase marked the successful culmination of this year’s program,
which ran from June 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026. Supported by the government of Ontario
through the Seniors Community Grant, MFFC delivered a diverse range of initiatives
designed to enhance both physical and mental well-being, with a strong focus on
promoting independent living among the older adults.
A key component of the program was education, particularly in the area of bone
health and osteoporosis awareness. Participants benefited from informative
sessions that increased their understanding of prevention strategies and overall
health maintenance.
To support cognitive health and mental engagement, the program incorporated a
variety of stimulating activities, including board games, music, and dancing.
These activities not only encouraged mental sharpness but also fostered social
interaction and community connection.
Physical wellness was addressed through low-impact exercise programs tailored
to the needs of older adults. In addition, participants were provided with
opportunities to connect with nature, contributing to both physical vitality and
emotional well-being.
Beyond individual programming, MFFC extended its impact through an outreach
initiative aimed at giving back to the broader community. This effort reinforced
the organization’s commitment to meaningful, inclusivity, and ongoing support.
Overall, SCG program successfully delivered a holistic approach to wellness.
Empowering participants to maintain healthier, more independent lifestyles.
